Position Overview

The Senior HR Generalist is a people-focused operator who helps ensure we consistently have the Right People in the Right Seats by executing our people processes with clarity and consistency. This role is the primary owner of day-to-day HR administration, compliance execution, employee lifecycle processes, and people data integrity. The Senior HR Generalist ensures our recruiting, onboarding, training, documentation, and offboarding processes are documented, followed-by-all, and compliant. Partnering closely with the President and outsourced HR resources, this role supports role clarity, accountability, and a positive employee experience while maintaining accurate, audit-ready people systems.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day execution of HR processes across the employee lifecycle, ensuring they are documented, followed-by-all, and compliant

  • Serve as the primary owner of HR administration, employee records, HRIS data integrity, and people documentation.

  • Maintain HR workflows, checklists, and systems to support consistent, audit-ready processes.

  • Execute full-cycle recruiting and hiring logistics, ensuring alignment with Core Values and GWC.

  • Execute onboarding and offboarding using documented processes, including I-9s, background checks, HRIS setup, system access changes, and Day 1 readiness.

  • Support role clarity through accurate job descriptions and documentation aligned with the Accountability Chart (under leadership direction and approval).

  • Track and manage employee training, certifications, safety documentation, and required renewals.

  • Maintain HR policies and employee documentation and support compliance with Washington employment laws (updates under leadership direction and approval).

  • Administer benefits enrollment, life events, renewals, drug testing, and related HR programs in coordination with vendors, the union, and outsourced HR.

  • Track employee status changes, attendance, leave, and PTO accuracy.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee HR-related questions and support managers with documentation and employee concerns, escalating as appropriate.

  • Support EOS People tools, HR metrics, and Scorecard data for leadership and Level 10 meetings.

  • Support annual wage equity review preparation, employee recognition milestones, and culture, engagement, and internal communication initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end people operations and HR process flow.

  • Ability to independently manage multiple HR functional areas with minimal oversight.

  • Demonstrated judgment, discretion, and professionalism in handling sensitive matters.

  • Strong attention to detail, documentation, and follow-through.

  • Effective communicator with employees, managers, and external partners.

  • Ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced, operational environment.

  • Experience supporting leaders without serving in a strategic policy-setting role.

  • 3–6 years of progressive HR generalist or HR operations experience.

  • Experience with HRIS platforms, onboarding, recordkeeping, and benefits administration

  • Prior experience working in an EOS environment is a plus

  • Familiarity with WA employment laws preferred (training provided).

Physical Demands

While performing this job's duties, the employee will be on a computer consistently.

Work Environment

This role is office-based, with occasional opportunities for on-site job site visits.  Occasional lifting or moving up to thirty-five (35) pounds is required.
